Biography of Moulana Fayez Uddin Khan



Moulana Fayez Uddin Khan (1942 – 15th July 2006) was a prominent Islamic scholar, educator, and community leader from Singaria village in Assam, India. Born into a family of esteemed religious scholars, he was the son of Moulana Mahmudur Rahman and the grandson of Qari Najib Ali, both of whom were respected figures in Islamic education and spirituality. This lineage of faith and scholarship deeply influenced Moulana Fayez Uddin’s life and set the foundation for his own commitment to community service and religious education.

After completing his studies at Aljamiatul Arabia Al-Islamia in Badarpur, Moulana Fayez Uddin embarked on a teaching career as an Arabic teacher at Sonari Bhagwati Prasad Barua Higher Secondary School. Later, he was transferred to Jafargar Extended Higher Secondary School in Baraigram, Karimganj, allowing him to return to his roots and serve his local community more closely.

He served as an Arabic teacher at Srigouri High School also, located in Badarpur. 

Known for his dedication to teaching, he brings both language expertise and cultural knowledge to his students, helping them develop a deep understanding of Arabic. His engaging teaching style and commitment to student success make him a valued member of the school faculty, where he plays a vital role in enhancing the language skills and cultural awareness of his students. Through his work, he contributes not only to their academic growth but also to their appreciation of the rich Arabic language and heritage.

Moulana Fayez Uddin’s dedication to community development and religious education was evident in his many contributions. He was instrumental in founding the Bojo Madrassa, an institution that provided local youth with access to Islamic education. His efforts also led to the establishment of the Idgah at Mon and the Sonari Masjid, essential facilities for community prayer and gathering. In addition, he advocated for regular prayer sessions, known as Panjegana, at the Singaria Sabahi Maktab and played a significant role in constructing its masjid.

Moulana Fayez Uddin Khan passed away on 15th July 2006, but his legacy endures. His life’s work remains a testament to his devotion to his faith, his family’s legacy, and his community.
